ubuntuのメール環境

メール環境を設定をセットアップする必要があり、Ubuntuのメール環境について調べました。
Debianのメールサーバはexim4が標準です。
Ubuntuは、SMTPサーバにPostfix、POP3, IMAPサーバにdovecotが使われています。
dovecot(ハト小屋)は、デフォルトでは、平文の認証を受け付けません。
テストのためにtelnetから手動でログインしたかったので、一時的に平文の認証を受け付けるように設定しました。

dovecotのセットアップ

プロトコルにPOP3を使う場合は、dovecot-pop3dを、IMAPを使う場合は、dovecot-imapdをインストールします。

$ sudo apt-get install dovecot-pop3d dovecot-imapd

telnetで接続

デフォルト設定のまま、telnetで接続すると平文での接続はできな

設定変更

/etc/dovecot/dovecot-postfix.confのdisable_plaintext_authとssl_disableの2つの設定を下記のように平文の認証を受け入れる設定にします。
